Upcoming Events

Hope Haven Therapeutic Riders are working very hard to get ready for the Special Olympics Equestrian Event which will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010.  This event is the highlight of the summer.  Twenty-four riders will be competing at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds beginning at 8:00 am that day. 

Our riders have made remarkable progress this year.  Eleven riders from Putnam County and thirteen from Hendricks County have been working very hard.  Two clients are able to walk, trot and canter on their own.  One third of the riders are walking and trotting completely on their own.  Thirty-eight percent of the clients are walking their horses with no assistance and many are starting to trot with little or no assistance from leaders and side walkers.  This is a huge improvement over last year when the majority of clients needed both leaders and side walkers to assist them.  As you can tell, the clients have been working extremely hard to achieve this and are looking forward to showcasing their new skills at the Special Olympics in September.

The public is invited to attend the competition.  If you have the opportunity, please come out an watch our riders and help celebrate their progress this year.  We hope to see you there.  Riders will be competing in several types of riding and showmanship classes.

The Jill LeAnn Wells Endowment for Hope Haven

Would  you like to be able to make a significant gift to Hope Haven that could benefit you and your heirs, as well as solve some of your financial, tax and estate planning challenges?  The Putnam County Community Foundation can show you how!

The Jill LeAnn Wells Endowment for Hope Haven was established at the Putnam County Community Foundation by the family of Jill Wells to be a source of sustainable funds for Hope Haven.  Any amount can be contributed and will ensure Hope Haven is able to serve people for many years to come.  You can make gifts of cash, stock, retirement assets, life insurance, real estate, and more to the endowment.  You can also leave a legacy with a bequest in your will.  Donors even have the opportunity to establish charitable gift annuities that can benefit Hope Haven's endowment and also provide the donor or a loved one with income for life.

If you would like to learn more about our endowment or giving, please contact Elaine Peck or Eric Wolfe at 765-653-4978.  Until November 30, 2010, the Community Foundation is providing a 1 to 2 match of all gifts to the endowment up to $2,500.00.  Make your check payable to "Putnam County Community Foundation" with "Hope Haven" in the memo and send to 2 S. Jackson Street, Greencastle, IN 46135.
