In the Fall of 2012, thanks to Drew and Deb Christy, Hope Haven collaborated with three amazing Senior teams from the Rose-Hulman's bio-medical engineering department.  When first approached, neither party was sure how the other was going to be able to help.  After a successful year with the first cycle of students, all involved at Hope Haven knew that this would be a special collaboration.  The collaboration continues to not disappoint as three new teams have arrived for cycle two. This collaboration was so amazing that it has changed the way in which Hope Haven teaches, measures, and provides services.  Recently named the Rose-Hulman/Christy Project in honor of the Rose-Hulman students and the Christy family, Hope Haven started this project in an effort to provide an in depth study into the assistance of technology and PATH certified therapeutic riding lessons.  Our long term goal in combining the Rose-Hulman technology with our high-quality outside of the box thinking of our staff in therapeutic riding lessons will focus on  bringing hard statistical data to the benefits of therapeutic riding and the impact we are making.

We are now accepting applications for new clientele with a diagnoisis of Down Syndrome, Autism, DD, and CP for the study.  Spots are limited for the study, so please contact Christina Menke at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for questions regarding the Rose-Hulman/Christy Project.  Although we have already been in pre-pilot mode utilizing the Rose-Hulman designs in place, the full project will have a tentative start date of March 1, 2014.  The project will provide 30 weeks of PATH certified lessons and utilization of the Rose-Hulman designs.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
Recently Hope Haven has been given a matching grant opportunity from Neil and Michelle Irwin in an effort to position the Rose-Hulman/Christy Project for long term viability.  For every $500.00 or more corporate or individual contribution made, the Irwin family will match it.  Hope Haven is excited to have this opportunity to invite local businesses and indvidual donors to partner with a gift that will have double its impact on the Rose-Hulman/Christy Project.  We look forward to partnering with businesses and individuals who understand the impact we can make in our community.
